Tora
Platja de Torà or Peguera Torà is situated at seven kilometres from Andratx, between Illetes de Torà, sa Puntassa (separating headland) and Platja des Morts. It is irrigated by Torrent o Riuetó de sa Coma which flows into the sea at this point. The name Peguera is given by the oven that was used to extract the resin from the pine trees and the name Tora, from the Hebrew (Torah is the law) because of the old possessió where nowadays there are the apartments and hotels that surround this beach. This sandy area is quite big and it is exposed to the wind that blows from the southwest, as well as a quiet water, a gentle slope and it is an urban beach although there are still some pine trees left. The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring boats are excellent in front of this beach which is open to the winds of the second and third quadrants. The navigator may anchor in front of the coast, on a sandy ground, where the depth ranges from three to four metres. The nearest port facilities are located at Club Nàutic Santa Ponça, at two nautical miles. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs carefully and the deviations. The private car can be left on a free parking area. You can also reach this beach with the public transport. The nearest bus stop is located in the surroundings.
