Cala Esmeralda
Cala Esmeralda or Caló des Corrals is situated at 14 kilometres Portocolom. The name comes from the greenish-bluish colour of the water with the rays of sunlight. This small sandy area which is surrounded by some rocks of low height, is one of the beaches that belong to Cala d’Or, and which are quite unspoilt. The hotels and apartments, as well as the residential houses are at a certain distance from the beginning of the beach. There is still a part of the high pine trees and the visitor has more space. This is why we don’t see the impact of a very developed coastline. The marine and underwater conditions of Cala Esmeralda are good for anchoring boats. The ground is located at about four to five metres of depth and is sandy with some seaweed. The nearest port facilities are located at Port Esportiu Marina Cala d’Or, at one nautical mile. The accessibility by car is easy. If you want to reach this place by private car, you only have to follow the signs that indicate how to reach the free parking area next to the beach. If you chose the public transport, the nearest bus stop is located at about 300 metres from this sandy area. These characteristics explain that Cala Esmeralda is very crowded.
