Punta Sa Torre
Punta de sa Torre or Punta des Marès (45 metres over the sea level) is situated at eight kilometres from Sant Joan de Labritja, located between Cala Portinatx and Badia de Cala Xarraca, as well as below the tower Torre del Port de Portinatx (nine metres high). The area around the tower is a private property, but with free access, planned and built between 1756 and 1763, and the distance that separates it from the village of Portinatx (most important touristy centre in the area of es Amunts) is about two kilometres, you can reach it on foot or by bicycle. This coastal stretch is characterized by being the coastline of a headland, the result of which is a v-shaped sea inlet after the action of the sea and the wind. It is quite small, the surface is rocky, abrupt and steep; and it is surrounded by high cliffs without vegetation, open and exposed to the wind and the swell. The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring boats are not safe in front of its coast. You are recommended to do this manoeuvre in the nearby and safe Cala Portinatx. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs and the deviations. The last part has to be done on foot until the coast or by bicycle. The private car can be left on a free parking area in the surroundings. These characteristics explain that the beach is not very crowded by local visitors and tourists.
