Cala Fornells is situated at six kilometres from Andratx, between sa Punta de na Sardana, where the visitor will have a fantastic panoramic view over the beaches of Peguera and Santa Ponça, as well as Illa es Malgrat and the nearby Caló de ses Llises. The touristic buildings, the residential houses and the restaurants surround this beautiful beach until the coastline, where there are also some pine trees here and there. Nevertheless, this small sea inlet finishes on a beautiful area with coarse-grained sand and crystal clear water, whereas on the right side there is a rocky area, and on the left side an artificial solarium built by the adjacent hotel. The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring boats are good in front of this beach which is open to the wind from the east-southeast-south, although the navigator is recommended to do this manoeuvre in the nearby Caló de ses Llises, which is more sheltered. Nevertheless, in front of Cala Fornells there is a sandy and rocky ground and the depth ranges from four to six metres. The dead Conde Barcelona, Juan de Borbón, used to anchor his boat Giralda in Cala Fornells. At 2,5 nautical miles there is Club Nàutic Santa Ponça. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs. The private car can be left on a free parking area. You can also reach this beach with the public transport. The nearest bus stop is located in the surroundings. These characteristics explain that the beach is not too crowded by local visitors and tourists. Information about this beach may change.
