Cala Mastella is situated at 4,8 kilometres from Sant Carles de Peralta, between Punta d’en Ribes and es Caló Roig, as well as next to the village of Can Jordi. This rectangular, narrow and closed sea inlet finishes on a beach with fine-grained clear sand, and it is very small. It is surrounded by a thick pine wood and by very steep rocks on the sides, whereas the rear is the mouth of the Torrent Socarrat when it rains. There is a small wetland with cane and reeds in the surroundings. On the right side there is a trail that takes you to the nearby Cala Llenya. On the natural breakwater of the opposite side there is a trail that takes to a good restaurant. This sandy area has a gentle slope (at 40 metres from the coast there is a depth of only two metres) on a sandy ground next to the coast. Nevertheless as the distance to the coast gets bigger, the rocks appear, covered by seaweed at about 6 to 12 metres. These underwater conditions invite you to dive, even on the surface. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs and the deviations. The private car can be left on a free parking area in the surroundings, and the last hectometre has to be done on a track in bad conditions. You can also reach the beach by bicycle. These characteristics explain that the beach of Cala Mastella is not too crowded by tourists. Information about this beach may change.
