Cala Egos
Cala dEgos is situated at 10 kilometres from Andratx, between Punta de sa Dent and na Moragues, aswell as under Penyal Vermell (300 metres high) and el Coll des Vent. It is the only areo of the coastline of Andratx which has good conditions for bathing, diving and anchoring boats. This v-shaped sea inlet finishes on a beautiful virgin and isolated cove, with a huge canyon at the rear which is irrigated by a torrent, some low cliffs and a beach with pebbles. These elements present a very dry and steep landscape, with a vegetation of scrubland and pine trees. The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring boats are excellent in this beach which is open to the winds from the south-southwest and west, on a sandy ground with pebbles, with a depth that ranges between 10 metres at 250 metres from the coast and seven at one and a half hectometres from the beach. The nearest port facilities are located at Port dAndratx, at 2,2 nautical miles. You are recommended to reach this stony area on the sea way. It is impossible to reach this beach on the road. You have to leave your private car at Club de Vela Port dAndratx. From these facilities you can reach calle Cala dEgos, from where you have to start a hard, four kilometres walk, with a difference of 300 metres with no shade. These characteristics explain that the beach is not very crowded by the residents of this place. Information about this beach may change.
