Cala Serena or Caló de ses Dones is situated at 14 kilometres from Portocolom. It has a wide sea entrance between some steep cliffs, and at about hundred metres of distance a small headland divides it into two parts, this beach and Cala Ferrera. It is a small sandy area, very quiet, without mass tourism, although there is a village nearby with the same name of this beach. This is why the beach is not very crowded, unlike Cala Ferrera nearby. The right part of Cala Serena is unspoilt, there is no development on this virgin environment. There is a wall that marks out this sandy area. The beach is surrounded by some steep vertical cliffs, which are not very high, but with a lot of caves, some of them can shelter a visitor looking for some isolation, and we will also find a typical Mediterranean coastal pine wood. Anchoring boats is possible in the marine surroundings, in the entrance to Caló de ses Dones the depth ranges from four to five metres, on a sandy ground with seaweed. The nearest port facilities are located at Port Esportiu Marina Cala d’Or, at 1,3 nautical miles. The accessibility by car is easy due to the signs. The private car can be left on a free parking area, at 400 metres from the beach. This last part has to be done on foot between the houses of the village and then go down the stairs to reach this sandy area. Information about this beach may change.
