Caló d’en Serra is situated at three kilometres from Portinatx, located between Port de Portinatx and Punta d’en Gat, as well as below Puig de sa Caperulla (308 metres high). This u-shaped sea inlet finishes on a very small beach with quite fine-grained golden sand in the central area, and gravel or rocks on the sides surrounded by cliffs. You will also find scrubland and pine trees in this beautiful coastal corner. This quiet cove has an orientation toward east. The wind blows normally gently from the sea. This is a result of the situation of this abrupt beach. The slope is also very gently which makes bathing in the transparent water easy. The ground is covered by sand and rocks with seaweed. If you swim along the right side you will reach another beautiful cove, which can’t be seen and which can only be reaches on the sea way. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs and the deviations and the last part has to be done on a dusty and steep track which you cannot follow with any type of car. The private car can be left on a free parking area in the surroundings. These characteristics explain that the beach is not very crowded by local visitors and tourists. On the beach there are some escars (typical dry docks built by the fishers of the island), where these people keep their llaüts (small boats) and all they need for fishing.
