Cala en Forcat is situated at seven kilometres from Ciutadella, located between Cap de Banyos and ses Dobles, as well as next to the village of Los delfines and the touristy areas Cales Piques and Cala en Brut. The coastal stretch between Cap de Banyos and Port de Ciutadella, including also Cala en Brut, Clot d’en Barceló –in the area of these two beaches you can dive- and Cala en Blanes, has an orientation toward east-southeast and it is a 1,5 nautical miles long low and steep coastline. This sinuous sea inlet is characterized by the small size, the beach is sandy, there is rare vegetation in the surroundings, it is exposed to the wind from the south-southeast, the water is cal, and it is very crowded by local visitors and tourists. The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring small boats are excellent. This coastal corner with buoys is very protected from the winds, and it is a shelter for the small boats when the swell grows. If the wind blows from the exterior you have to anchor in the western area. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs and the deviations. The private car can be left on a free parking area in the surroundings. When the beach has a lifeguard service, you must follow the lifeguards’ instructions and the warnings on flags. A red flag indicates dangerous swimming conditions and means that swimming is not permitted. A yellow flag indicates that precaution must be taken, but that swimming is permitted. A green flag indicates that swimming is permitted. An orange flag is used to indicate that the lifeguard is absent. Act cautiously when no lifeguard is present or the service is not available and enjoy the beach without taking any unnecessary risks. For health and safety reasons, the municipal ordinances ban pets on beaches. Information about this beach may change.
