Caló des Homos Morts is situated at five kilometres from Cala d’Or. This small beach is located next to the touristy resort and crowded by the guests of the Club Mediterranee (a holiday resort built in 1961). Once you are on this sandy area, which is not very easy to reach, because you have to walk from the nearby Caló de sa Torre and cross part of this holiday village, you will be welcome by a huge pine tree, situated next to the sea. Both the sand and the water belong to the facilities of the activities organized by Club Mediterranee and other touristy services. At about 200 metres from the coast, some buoys avoid the entrance of boats, and on the left there is a jetty for the passenger launches that come from Portopetro. Nevertheless the sandy ground with some seaweed and a depth of five metres does allow anchoring of boats, but if the wind blows from the east, you are not recommended to anchor here. The nearest port facilities are located at Reial Club Nàutic Portopetro, at 0,6 nautical miles. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs until the nearby Caló de sa Torre. You can park your car between the residential houses and continue on foot, along the coast, toward Caló des Homos Morts. The presence of the Club MED explains that the beach is crowded.
