Calonet Fornas

Es Calonet d’es Fornàs is situated at 13 kilometres from Llucmajor, between Caló de Sant Antoni and es Rentador de sa Senyora (“the ladies’ washing place” in English, there are rests of a hut which was supposed to be the bathing hut of the lady of Son Verí) and below the village of Son Verí and the possessió (rural finca) of Son Grauet. At a few metres from Son Grauet you will see Roca des Turistes, a flat rock with a diameter of three metres which can be reached from the bottom by a stair cut in the rock, where you will have a panoramic view over the bay of Palma. From Roca des Turistes you can see the rocky area of the small sea entrance of es Calonet d’es Fornàs, on which there are some escars (dry docks) to keep small boats. This calm place is normally used for bathing by the residents of the villages of Son Verí and Son Verí Nou. The nearest port facilities are located at Club Nàutic s’Arenal. This rocky coast which is typical for the southern and south-western area of the island begins at Cala Sant Antoni, adjacent to the starboard breakwater of Club Nàutic s’Arenal, and finishes at the sandy area of sa Ràpita (Campos). The stretch between Caló de Sant Antoni and Punta de s’Arenal there are other very small inlets like the coves Verda, d’en Sarregà and Calenta, Caló de Sant Vicenç, and ses Pedreres.
