Can Cap de Bou is situated at 4,5 kilometres from Port de Pollença. This beach is located next to Club Pollentia, to the road which is the artificial border between the sea and the land, and nearby s’Albufereta de Pollença (a wetland of 150 hectares). This quiet sandy area is characterized by being very long and extremely narrow. This morphology is the result of the erosion of the sea currents and the strong wind blowing from north and northeast. This makes the coastal stretch very popular amongst windsurfers and surfers who are looking for this strong air current and the curled waves. This beach has some sandy stretches of a greyish colour and some posidonia rests, and other areas with pebbles. The slope is very gentle, so that you have to walk for many many metres until you might be able to swim. This characteristic is repeated on the whole bay with grounds made of sand, stones, seaweed and mud, which attracts the rod fishers. The nearest port facilities are located at Port de Pollença, at 2,4 nautical miles. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs, from Alcúdia or Pollença. Before you reach Club Pollentia you will see a platform where you can park your private car for free. You might also reach the beach by bus. The nearest bus stop is located at 10 metres from the beach. The beach is not very crowded by local visitors and tourists, residents of the nearby Club Pollentia. When the beach has a lifeguard service, you must follow the lifeguards’ instructions and the warnings on flags. A red flag indicates dangerous swimming conditions and means that swimming is not permitted. A yellow flag indicates that precaution must be taken, but that swimming is permitted. A green flag indicates that swimming is permitted. An orange flag is used to indicate that the lifeguard is absent. Act cautiously when no lifeguard is present or the service is not available and enjoy the beach without taking any unnecessary risks. For health and safety reasons, the municipal ordinances ban pets on beaches. Information about this beach may change.
