Platja des Morer Vermell is situated at 1,5 kilometres from Alcúdia. This proximity allows to visit the walled enclosure (14th century) that was built around Alcudia and the Roman theatre (1st century) for 2000 people. This beautiful beach is characterized by its calm, which you can enjoy on a white fine-grained sand or swimming in its crystal clear water. The surroundings are quite developed, but not too spoilt, there are some hotels, aswell as a village nearby with the same name of the beach. The right side is still unspoilt, with a rocky area, a pine wood and the virginity of this place. The marine and underwater conditions are good for anchoring small boats near the coast, there is an access channel for this type of boats. The other navigators will find an area with very gentle slope, with a rocky ground at a depth of only two metres at two hectometres from the coast. The nearest port facilities are located at Port des Barcarets, at 0,4 nautical miles. The accessibility by car is easy until the village of es Morer Vermell following the signs. Once you have reached this residential village, you will have to take the local track toward right which will take you to a free parking area in the surroundings of this sandy area. These characteristics explain that the beach of es Morer Vermell is not very crowded by local visitors and tourists. When the beach has a lifeguard service, you must follow the lifeguards’ instructions and the warnings on flags. A red flag indicates dangerous swimming conditions and means that swimming is not permitted. A yellow flag indicates that precaution must be taken, but that swimming is permitted. A green flag indicates that swimming is permitted. An orange flag is used to indicate that the lifeguard is absent. Act cautiously when no lifeguard is present or the service is not available and enjoy the beach without taking any unnecessary risks.
