Es Niu Blau or s’Estanyol is situated at two kilometres from Santa Eulària des Riu, located between sa Caleta-Punta de sa Caleta and Cala Pada, as well as next to the village of Can Sansó. This u-shaped sea inlet is quite small and on the right side the Torrent d’Arabí flows into the sea. The mouth of this torrent explains that there is fine-grained sand as well as pebbles on the beach. The slope is gentle (at 40 metres from the coast there is a depth of only two metres). There is a thick pine wood and other species at the rear. This beach is open to the wind from the southeast, which normally blows from the sea and is between gentle and moderate. The water of es Niu Blau is transparent, you can see a sandy ground with seaweed and next to the torrent this ground becomes muddy and cloudy. Except in this last area, between s’Estanyol and the reef of Cala Pada you are recommended to dive. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs. The private car can be left on a free parking area in the surroundings. You can also reach this beach with the public transport. The nearest bus stop is located at three hectometres. These characteristics explain that the beach, which is a quiet and attractive coastal corner, is not too crowded by local visitors and tourists. Information about this beach may change.
