Cala Carbo

Cala Carbó is situated at eight kilometres from Sant Josep de sa Talaia, between Puig de s’Oratge and Cala Truja, as well as below the village with the same name and Puig Pelat (245 metres high). The name is given by the wood used in this natural setting by the wood cutters because of the coal. It has still thick vegetation. This arch-shaped beautiful sea inlet is quite small, the beach is covered by quite fine-grained golden sand, the slope is very gentle, it has crystal clear water, a sandy ground with some rocks and seaweed which invite you to dive on the surface or with oxygen, and it is sheltered by a quite big rocky cliff. This sea inlet (80 metres large at the entrance) has good marine and underwater conditions for anchoring boats. It is exposed to the wind from west-northwest. The navigator is recommended to anchor in the first half of the cove, on a sandy ground with seaweed and rocks, where there is a depth of four to six metres. In the northern area there is a small jetty. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs and the deviations. The private car can be left on a free parking area in the surroundings. You can also reach this beach with the public transport. The nearest bus stop is located at two kilometres (Cala Vedella) and the rest has to be done on foot. These characteristics explain that the beach is not too crowded. Information about this beach may change.
