Bassa Cabots
Bassa des Cabots is situated at seven kilometres from ses Salines, between Punta des Coto and de sa Creueta and des Tort, and it is an urban beach that belongs to the touristic village of Colònia de Sant Jordi. This cove belongs to a u-shaped sea inlet, which is separated into two beaches, one is semicircular, Bassa des Cabots, the other one is rectangular. A small rocky headland divides both beaches and there is a promenade along this coast. This place is characterized by the steep rocks eroded by the sea currents, and also by the absence of vegetation and the proximity of the buildings of es Coto. In front of the coast of Punta des Tort, where there are spectacular panoramic views over the archipelago of Cabrera, you can see the small island Illa de na Cabot. At half a nautical mile going east, there is another cliff, Illa na Corberana, which is very low, there are no buoys, the surroundings are navigable and at about three hectometres going west there are some underwater rocky archs, very popular amongst the divers. Another particularity is the large number of small islands in front of the southern majorcan coast. The nearest port facilities are located at Port Colònia de Sant Jordi. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs until Bassa des Cabots. You can park for free in the surroundings of this small beach. Information about this beach may change.
