Molinar
Platja des Portitxolet is situated at two kilometres east from Palma, surrounded by restored ground floors and the Paseo Maritimo of the old fishing suburb es Molinar, which has become a residential zone, with a cycling lane toward the beach of Ciutat Jardí. This small piece of coast is characterized by the sand, pebbles and gravel which contrast with the sandy marine ground. The natural conditions are not very good for anchoring boats, but if it was necessary, the depth ranges between two and four metres. If the wind blows from southeast-south-southwest there might be dangerous and annoying waves, which gets worse if the navigator approaches from starboard some blocks that emerge visibly from the water at five metres from the coast. The nearest port facilities are located at Club Nàutic Portitxol, at 0,1 nautical miles west. The fact that Platja d’es Portitxolet is situated outside the touristic areas explains that most of the visitors are local residents with no tourists. The nearby free parking area is small and the rest is pay-parking (ORA). This is why you are recommended to take the public transport, the nearest bus stop is at three hundred metres. The leisure time activities in the surroundings of this beach are characterized by a huge variation of restaurants, where we find traditional rice or fish-based dishes in combination with innovative proposals.
