Cala Barques is situated at seven kilometres from Pollença, separated from Cala Clara by Punta dels Ferrers and it belongs to the four beaches called Cala Sant Vicenç, and this is the biggest and the most developed one. Cala Sant Vicenç was the natural setting for the films like Captain black Jack directed by J. Duvivier and starred by Georges Sanders, and you can visit the prehistoric caves of s’Alzinaret, with a great arqueological richness. This sandy area is surrounded by touristic buildings and residential houses, but it still has a small jetty that reminds us the marine past. The presence of this touristic and residential village assures the massive influx of local visitors and tourists to this beach. The marine and underwater conditions are good for anchoring boats, if you avoid the flagstone at less than one metre from the water, at about 200 metres from the coast, and the wind the winds blowing from north-northeast. Apart from these two obstacles you will find a sandy ground with a depth of three metres at 300 metres from the coast. The nearest port facilities are located at Port de Pollença at 16,4 nautical miles. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs. At the end the private car can be left on a free parking area . The last part to this sandy area has to be done on foot going down the steps which are not adapted for disabled people. You can also reach this beach with the public transport. The nearest bus stop is in the surroundings of the beach. Information about this beach may change.
