Cala Serralot or es Serralot is situated at thirteen kilometres from Santa Margalida, between es Fondo de Son Real and Punta Llarga de Son Real. This coastal corner is characterized by the low coastline, it is not very deep, rocky and not very populated. The system of dunes (Àrea Natural d’Especial Interès Dunes de Son Real: area of 1.114 hectares –coastal strip which is two kilometres large and five kilometres long, including the wetlands of the torrents of Son Real and Son Bauló-, protected by the Parlament de les Illes Balears since 1991), as well as the thick and virgin pine wood in the village (Pinar des Revellar) that continue at the rear of this coastal corner. Es Serralot is located between two virgin sandy areas, the nearby Platja des Dolç and s’Arenal d’en Casat, as well as the headland Punta des Patró which is the natural breakwater of this last beach. This is why you can do some short walks to visit these beautiful places and the prehistoric sanctuary of Punta des Patró, with the only rest of a majorcan construction which is similar to the famous taules of Menorca and where animals were sacrificed. The marine and underwater conditions are not good for anchoring boats or approaching the coast with too much swell or wind toward land, because the ground is not very deep and there are some flagstones. The nearest port facilities are located at Port Esportiu de Can Picafort. Information about this beach may change.
