Caló des Duri o d’en Trull is situated next to the touristic village of Cala Saona, located between Cala Saona and Punta Negra, aswell as at five kilometres from Sant Francesc Xavier. In this natural setting which belongs to the Àrea Natural d’Especial Interès de Cap Alt, nudism is allowed. This v-shaped sea inlet is quite small, it is surrounded by high, rocky, abrupt and steep cliffs with no vegetation. The beach has some big rocks from the cliffs, a quite steep slope and a crystal clear water that invites to dive on a sandy and rocky ground. This cove is sheltered by Punta Rasa (18 metres above the sea level), which leads to the v-shaped coastal area of the southern part of Formentera, which has a dry character with high cliffs with no vegetation, and the best example is Cap de Barbaria (cliffs between 80 and 100 metres, it belongs to the Àrea Natural d’Especial Interès with the same name –547 hectares-, 33 arqueological sites were found –21 of the prehistoric period, the human presence on Formentera since the second millenium before Christ- and the name is given by the proximity to the northafrican territory once known as Berbería). These characteristics explain that the beach is not very crowded by local visitors and tourists because of the difficult accessibility. When the beach has a lifeguard service, you must follow the lifeguards’ instructions and the warnings on flags. A red flag indicates dangerous swimming conditions and means that swimming is not permitted. A yellow flag indicates that precaution must be taken, but that swimming is permitted. A green flag indicates that swimming is permitted. An orange flag is used to indicate that the lifeguard is absent. Act cautiously when no lifeguard is present or the service is not available and enjoy the beach without taking any unnecessary risks. For health and safety reasons, the municipal ordinances ban pets on beaches. Information about this beach may change.
