Platja des Dolç is situated at 300 metres from Colònia de Sant Jordi and nearby the fishing port and the marina. This touristic and residential village has the only salt pan which are exploited in Majorca, s’Estany and sa Vall. This coastal area has white fine-grained sand, with some rocks which are covered by seaweed. The ground is sandy, with rocks and seaweed. The depth ranges between three metres at 200 metres from the coast, and two at a hundred metres. In front of the coast you will sea many small boats. The beach is mainly visited by residents of ses Salines, Palma and other villages nearby, they have a holiday house here, and since the construction of the coastal promenade there are also more tourists. The accessibility by car is easy to es Dolç, although you will have to park quite far away and walk 250 metres to reach this beach, the same distance as to the nearest bus stop. At about three hundred metres from the coast you can see the small island of na Guardis (with Punic and Ebusitan rests) and other small islands that are the natural barrier to preserve the cleanliness of the sand and the marine ground. Diving is recommended between the small island of na Guardis, Colònia de Sant Jordi and es Dolç. The divers will be between the rests of a Punic shipwreck and of a roman galley, located at two and six metres of depth, respectively. Information about this beach may change.
