Migjorn-Ses Salines
Migjorn or Platja de ses Salines is situated at 11 kilometres from Eivissa, located between puntas de la Roma and de sa Torre, which close the enormous Badia de la Canal. This beach belongs to the Àrea Natural d’Especial Interès ses Salines (400 hectares), with a big ornithological and landscape richness (pine trees and bushes fix the system of dunes at the rear). This nearly virgin coastal stretch is characterized by being very long, it has fine-grained white sand, the slope is very gentle (at 50 metres from the coast there is a depth of only 1,7 metres), the orientation is toward south-southeast, the gentle wind blows normally from the sea, and there is a thick vegetation which reaches the coastline, between the old rails of the train that used to transport the salt from the salt pans still working-, until the channel, there is a breathtaking panoramic view over the small islands s’Espalmador and Formentera, and the beach is not too crowded. The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring boats are excellent in this bay which is open to the wind from the southeast-south-southwest. You can anchor anywhere in this sea inlet, on a sandy ground with seaweed at a depth that ranges from four to ten metres. In the north-western area there is an old jetty, with a depth of 2,5 metres at the beginning and five at the end. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs and the deviations. The private car can be left on a free parking area in the surroundings. You can also reach this beach with the public transport or by bicycle (there is a cycling lane). The nearest bus stop is located at two hectometres. Information about this beach may change.
