Sant Tomàs or Platja de Sant Tomàs is situated at five kilometres from es Migjorn Gran, located between Punta Negra, adjacent with Platja de Binicordell, and Punta Atàlitx, aswell as next to the village with the same name, with houses and hotels that nearly reach the coastline. In the surroundings there are also agricultural areas. This beach belongs to the enormous u-shaped sea inlet which is the origin of a huge bay, totally open to the sea. This coastal stretch is characterized by the big size, the beach is sandy, there are rocky areas on the eastern natural breakwater, covered by a small thick pine wood which reaches the coastline, it is exposed to the winds from the southeast-south-southwest, a gentle breeze, crystal clear water and a high influx of local visitors and tourists, and it is an urban beach. The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring boats are not good, it is not very deep and totally unsheltered. At about three hectometres from the coast and toward east there is Escull (“reef”) d’en Salat, a flagstone at a minimum depth of three metres. Toward west in this beach you will find Illot (“small island”) de Binicodrell, natural border between the nearby beaches of Binigaus and Binicodrell, where you can only navigate if the weather is good with small boats. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs and the deviations. The private car can be left on a free parking area in the surroundings. You can also reach this beach with the public transport during the summer season. Information about this beach may change.
