Illetes is situated at nine kilometres from Palma, between Cala Contesa and Cala Brogit. This beach together with es Fortí and Cala Contesa, which is the smallest one of these three, are known as Illetes. The name is given by the small islands that can be seen from the coast, with the nearby Illot de sa Caleta. This u-shaped sea inlet finishes on a sandy area surrounded by some medium-high cliffs, and there are also some touristic buildings and residential houses, which are quite high at the rear. A part of this beach used to have restricted access because it was in the past a military zone. The marine and underwater conditions are good for anchoring boats in front of this sandy area, which is open to the winds from the northeast-east-southeast, the ground is sandy with some seaweed and the depth ranges from three to five metres. The nearest port facilities are located at Escola Nacional de Vela Calanova, at 1,2 nautical miles. It is normal to see sailing boats coming out of this school. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs. The private car can be left in the streets of this touristic and residential village in the surroundings. you have to go down the steps to reach the beach. You can also reach this beach with the public transport. The nearest bus stop is located next to the beach. These characteristics explain that the beach is very crowded by local visitors and tourists. Information about this beach may change.
