Cala Clara

Cala Clara is situated at seven kilometres from Pollença, separated from Cala Molins by Punta de la Torre, where there was a military fortress and it belongs to the four beaches that are known as Cala Sant Vicenç. The name is given by the colour of this sandy area. This beach with white fine-grained sand is quite small and on the sides there are some huge touristic buildings, which is a contrast to the impressions that the painters Santiago Rossinyol and Joaquín Sorolla took to their artistic works when they discovered this environment. In the surroundings there are also some residential houses. The marine and underwater conditions are not very good for anchoring boats and this manoeuvre has to be done with good weather. The beach is open to north-northeast, the sea comes usually in from the northwest, there is gentle slope and the depth is about three metres at three hectometres from the coast, on a sandy ground, and this is why boats should anchor far away from this stretch of coast. At 16,4 nautical miles there is Port de Pollença. The accessibility by car is easy until Cala Barques following the signs. The private car can be left on a free parking area. the next 100 metres have to be done on foot until this very small sandy area. You can also reach this beach with the public transport.
