Platja d’es Carbó is situated at 0,9 kilometres from Colònia de Sant Jordi, in front of the small island of na Molina, and it is the most visited unspoilt sandy area, although the visitors, mainly residents and tourists of this village, have to reach this beach on foot from Colònia de Sant Jordi or ses Salines. This is why the beach is not very crowded by local visitors and tourists. The huge area of fine-grained sand is covered by a posidonia meadow and branches brought by the sea. The coastline of the dunes is populated by marine iris, marine thistle, pines and bushes, and it is possible to sea birds. The private car has to be left at Colònia de Sant Jordi and you will have to walk for 2,3 kilometres to reach this calm wonderful beach from Platja d’es Port. The other possibility is leaving the car at Cap de ses Salines and starting a walk of six kilometres. The best option is getting there on the seaway, but the skipper has to be extremely careful when anchoring the boat because at 250 metres from the coast there is a depth of 2,5 metres to a ground of sand and seaweed, and there are some small islands. The nearest port facilities are located at Port Colònia de Sant Jordi, at 0,9 nautical miles. This sandy area is adjacent to finca sa Vall. You may visit the impressive cactus garden on Thursdays. From this finca you can reach the palace of the March family, built next to the defence tower of the 14th century. Information about this beach may change.
