Font Celada

Sa Font Celada is situated at 12 kilometres from Artà and it is the mouth of the Torrent des Castellot. The few visitors who frequent this coast will notice that the sea temperature is lower, as a result of the sweet water coming from the two sources. Torrent des Castellot is the origin of the very fine-grained golden sand at the fact that this sandy area continues for 150 metres toward the interior. The rare vegetation in this natural setting, some bushes and the fact that it is surrounded by a rocky coast exposed to the winds blowing from northwest-north-northeast give this sandy area a desert and rugged aspect. The marine and underwater conditions allow anchoring boats in front of the beach, on a sandy ground that continues for hundreds of metres toward the sea, with a depth of five metres at 300 metres from the coast. The most conflictive navigation point of this area, but excellent for diving, is es Faralló d’Aubarca, at 0,4 nautical miles from the coast, between Cap des Freu and Cap de Ferrutx. The nearest port facilities are located at Club Nàutic de Cala Ratjada, at 13,4 nautical miles. The accessibility by car is complicated because you have to cross some private fincas with your car. This is why you are recommended to follow a coastal trail between Cala Estreta and Cala Matzoc, a five kilometres walk. These characteristics explain that the beach is not crowded at all by local visitors. Information about this beach may change.
