Platja de Punta Prima is situated at six kilometres from Sant Lluís (the only urban centre founded by the French in the 18th century), located between Punta des Marbres and Prima, as well as next to the village with the same name and Torre de Son Ganxo. From its coast you can see the small island s’Illot de Cagaire and the island s’Illa de l’Aire. This beach is the result of a large and open sea inlet with low rocky areas, with residential houses that reach the coastline. It is quite big, with a sandy ground with seaweed in some areas and submarine vegetation on the sides, it is exposed to a moderate swell as well as to the wind from the southeast-south, it has a gentle slope, crystal clear water, and it is not very crowded by local visitors and tourists. The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring boats are not good because of the sandbanks in this bay. In the eastern-north-eastern area there is a stony coast with flagstones in the sea that give the name of Punta Prima or Cap de l’Engany/Enganyó. This is why the navigator is recommended to stay at more than a hectometre of distance from the coastal stretch between the eastern headland and Cala d’Alcalfar. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs and the deviations. The private car can be left on a free parking area in the surroundings. You can also reach this beach with the public transport during the summer season. Information about this beach may change.
