Son Moll

Son Moll is situated at two kilometres from Capdepera and it is the nearest beach to the centre of Cala Ratjada, with a high influx of human presence and development. Cala Ratjada is one of the first touristic places of Majorca and one of the most important fishing harbours. In the surroundings there is Cap de Capdepera, where you can find a lighthouse with breathtaking panoramic views and sa Torre Cega (15th century), where there is Palau d’en March (1911, it can be visited), museum-house of the rich March family with one of the best sculpture collections in Europe and a wonderful botanical garden (60.000 sqm). This beach is a wide sandy area surrounded by quite high touristic buildings which were built in the fifties of the 20th century to replace the small old summer houses. The navigator will find a perfect place, open to the wind from the northeast, east, southeast, to anchor on a sandy ground and a depth of about four metres at 150 metres from the beach. At about a hundred metres from the coast you will see the small island of Forana, the strait can not be passed because of the lack of depth. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs. The problem is finding a place to park your private car in the streets nearby. You are recommended to use the public transport. The nearest bus stop is located at 50 metres from this sandy area. These characteristics and the accessibility explain that the beach is very crowded by tourists. Information about this beach may change.
