My stay at the Son Manera Retreat Finca in Mallorca was a profound experience. Set high on a hill on the outskirts of Montuiri, this picturesque property offered a place of tranquillity and retreat, ideal for unwinding. I could either enjoy the wonderful peace and quiet or take advantage of the central location to explore the island, for which a rental car is highly recommended.
The finca places great importance on protecting the environment and resources, which I particularly liked. Plastic was avoided and I was able to fill up my water in a glass bottle at the water dispenser. The hot water was also heated by a newly installed solar system. Breakfast was a dream: served on the terrace, surrounded by palm trees, with a view as far as the village. There was fresh fruit, vegetables, porridge and much more.
The daily program included two yoga sessions, which took place both in the yoga room and outside on the terrace. These sessions were suitable for both beginners and experienced practitioners and were a wonderful way to start or end the day. The evening buffets in particular, with a variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes, were a highlight every day.
It was easy to travel to Palma de Mallorca on Saturday, and the finca even offered to take care of the flight bookings, which made the whole process easier. The option of offsetting CO2 emissions by opting to travel by train was another plus point
